Dusk Legion TYPE-SIREN by Zaeta-K Dusk Legion TYPE-SIREN by Zaeta-K
Yay! First drawing of 2012.

If anyone would like to see the process I did to make this particular mech, you can find the three steps here:

Concept: [link]
Final Drawing: [link]
Coloring / Finishing: [link]

Some lore:

First fielded during the opening acts of the Afterwar, the Dusk Legion's TYPE-SIREN was the first successful use of of a TA (Tactical Ambulation-Frame System). The ambulation-frame system was designed initially for performing "scaled up" construction jobs, serving as a massive power suit. During the Afterwar, TAs were the undisputed “be-all-end-all” infantry weapons, absolutely dwarfing enemy infantry in all combat theatres while being as armored as mobile artillery. On average, most TA stand around 4.25 meters tall.

The TYPE-SIREN's design sired multiple variations, including the missile-support oriented TYPE-JACKAL, impressively fast TYPE-MAKO, heavy defender TYPE-GAUNTLET, and the TYPE-AMBER, essentially a SIREN MkII.

A long "sensor strip" running along the machine's center torso and a smaller strip located on the lower back houses all of the SIREN's visual equipment, all of which is viewed as a direct-feed to the pilot's helmet. One would find no way to view the outside world without one of the SIREN pilot's helmets.

In an emergency, however, a small portion of the SIREN's torso can be manually ejected, allowing the pilot to still see outside with damage done to the sensor strip - though this leaves them wide open to the elements and enemy gunfire.

On its hull, the SIREN mounts two small-caliber machine guns built into the writs joints, and anti-personnel bomblets stored in the back - used when infantry get dangerously close, the SIREN can fire these mines into the air, which detonate and rain razor-sharp shrapnel down onto the enemy soldiers. An AMS is built into the upper right shoulder joint, capable of jamming laser-guided ordinance and shooting down others with a high-powered precision laser. Hard points on both shoulder paldrons are capable of mounting either grenade launchers, rockets, or in this particular illustrated SIREN, smoke launchers.

Additional weapon mounts are located on the SIREN's forearms and upper back. Virtually any type of weapon, from heavy machine guns to cannons are mounted on these ports, though it is more common for pilots to place large caliber rifles or cannons on the arms, while leaving the back mounts for weaponry needing exclusive stabilization, like mortars.

The schematics for the SIREN's motor functions are a closely-guarded secret, as Dusk Legion TAs are often much more maneuverable and "fluid" compared to the TAs of other races or organizations.

Even more awesome watching the production of this one!
The ONLY thing that bothers me though, is how the stripe on it's right shoulder is straight, while it is clearly on a rounded plate. other than that, I love this man.
