*Edit: Swapped out the VSS head*
Sketches of some of GEMeni's elite cybernetic / artificial soldiers. You guys might remember them as two characters at the bottom of my giant "innawoods" compilation sheet : o Might rework their designs a little but I felt this is a good starting point XD
Taking much of the groundwork already established by Etledyne, makers of the popular EOS line of synthetics ( [link]
), GEMeni recovered data lost by the company to create their own agents of destruction.
Both models are fully capable of going toe-to-toe with Runlar's Sojourners. The "Beleth" model is the more specialized variant, made of a hybrid of dmargo, ferrithian, and tsudayin DNA and usually operating under two different combat principles. The first "phase" includes a very heavily armed, flash and smoke grenade-laden assault; Beleths are masters of diversionary tactics. Entire teams of Runlar and ARC troopers alike often report falsely that they're under attack from at least three different enemy squads, when in reality it is only one Beleth causing all the mayhem. Their primary weapon is a large-magazine bullpup LMG. The second "phase" of combat begins when a Beleth comes under too much fire or has used the majority of their explosives. Their entire suit and gear are manufactured with emergency quick-release straps (think "party pants" you can just rip off P: ), so they can quickly remove all garments. A Beleth is covered nearly entirely in a photo-reflective "down feather" coating - when activated, it renders them nearly invisible. Though their gear won't "vanish" with them, it certainly makes them a much harder target to hit, especially when their extreme agility is taken into consideration. Their eyes are their largest give-away; one of the few things not to be covered in the "photoptic fur."
The VSS synthetics are much more versatile, and cheaper to manufacture. Created with dmargo and human DNA, VSS synthetics are just as fast as a Beleth, but lack the ability to cloak themselves. They are much more keen to working together in pairs or small teams, and have a direct link to GEMeni databases cataloging nearly everything known to them, from weapons, planets, and personnel. Their half-cybernetic brains are also able to wirelessly hack a number of different systems, from TA mechs to door locks.
