Mechanized armor was developed and saw combat during the beginning stages of the Afterwar.

Humans were the first to develop the MAV (modular anatomy vehicle) technology, and most other races followed suit with their own creations. Naturally, coming after the original designs and sometimes having superior technology, the other races' machines were far more advanced (hence why the human Ibex is a quad-legged design).

The Ibex is a human model MAV, capable of filling a defense role when mobile heavy fire support is needed. The model is available in AI or Pilot variations, and is still in production despite it's lower quality when compared to other MAVs. It tends to be popular with not only the UPD from which it came, but also vagabond mercenaries.

Often referred to as "the" AMAV, the dmargo "Siren" A (advanced) MAV is an extremely mobile, adaptable striker capable of filling both offensive and defensive roles. Having jump-capable thrusters, and usally armed with two recoiless rifles, the machine also mounts an impressive selection of antipersonnel mines, drone guns, and electronic warfare packages. While an AI could be used to interface with the machine, all Sirens are manufactured to be used with a real living pilot.

Most MP units rely on gyros and stabilizers constantly to retain their balance. One of the key ways of promoting stability in the machines is the use of the "weapon rack," where only one of the main guns are used at once. The guns not in use remain folded up on the back as a sort of counter-weight. When a weapon is needed, it slides down the rail mounted on the machine's hull, locking into place in the weapon mount and sending the previous weapon sliding back into a counter-balance position. Tsudayin Squall MPs are relatively new, so mostly prototypes are the only MPs in use by the Tsudayin Monarchy. They're mostly used on sorties deemed too hazardous for normal infantry but ample firepower is needed. They can also be attached to infantry or other armor divisions to increase their firepower.

The maralyn Lightning is the ultimate ground superiority weapon. While especially vulnerable to air strikes and other munitions because of it's massive size, the Lightning has weaponry and defensive measures literally mounted all over it. Multiple pylons jutting off of the frame can be used to "snap" high-density plasma to incoming projectiles, enemy units, or anything else the pilot or machine deems necessary to destroy. The main guns are heavy-duty plasma cannons which require a target to be painted with ions before it can fire- otherwise the plasma arcs would shoot off in a random direction, hitting friend and foe alike in a massive lightning storm esque blast.

With the new size and shape of the maralyn and their machines, it would be physically impossible for the antagonist of We the Fallen to use one of their AMAVs.
